GPCSO is pleased to offer an Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Group for Seniors with Depression and Anxiety Disorders.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy teaches us how our thoughts impact our emotions and actions. By changing our thoughts, we can change your actions and your mood. We look at our thoughts and check to see if they are accurate or helpful. If we can change the way we think so that our thoughts are more balanced, we can feel better. We can also change our actions. Doing things differently can help us think differently and it can make us feel better.

We have been able to provide services in both in-person and virtual platforms. Please speak to your case manager or psychiatrist to better understand the criteria for the group and the admission process.

We invite current and past participants of our CBT group for seniors to use the following meditation tracks as tools to support ongoing management of unhelpful thoughts and difficult emotions.

1. Breathing exercise

2. Progressive Muscle relaxation
